Conducts Sunday Dhamma school commencing from the age of 4 years upto secondary level schooling at the Bodhiraja Dharmayathanaya. The Dhamma School was established in 1962 with 12 students initiated by Ven. Lalpe Siriwansa Thero, which was the first and the only Dhamma school in the area and currently there are over 1700 students. The dedicated staff consists of both monks and lay volunteers.
Through this Sunday Dhamma School a strong bond is forged between the temple and the children. Buddhist values and identity should be cultivated from an early age which will last for a lifetime. Bodhiraja Foundation also manages six (6) other Sunday schools in nearby temples. It also conducts and organizes many cultural activities to develop students’ talents, leadership qualities and discipline. We are grateful for the committed and dedicated service rendered by Ven. Muruthamure Munindawansa Thero and to the current principal Ven. Vijeriye Vimala Thero.
