The south-western monsoon has burst into Sri Lanka in recent hours, accompanied by strong winds and heavy rains, with a death toll, five dead and as many missing. This was announced by the Centre for Disaster Management (Dmc) in Colombo. The provinces affected by the storm surge, which will last at least for the next 48 hours, are the central and southern ones.
