Sri Lanka has appealed to the world to help it cope with the emergency of torrential rains, which have caused disastrous floods and landslides, with a still provisional death toll of at least 91 confirmed dead and 110 missing. The government says that more than 2,000 people have been evacuated from their homes so far and that an estimated 61,000 people have been affected.
